Ingredients
  • 12 Hard boiled eggs
  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • 1 tbsp Tumeric
  • 1 Beet
Directions
Before dying eggs, dip each one in vinegar to prepare them.  Prepare the colors of your choice:

purple dye

Bring equal amounts of water and blueberries to a boil in a medium saucepan.  Lower temperature and allow to simmer for 30 minutes while gently mashing berries in the pan.  Strain the blueberries and add one tablespoon of vinegar per cup of liquid.  Stir and let cool.

yellow dye

Bring one tablespoon of turmeric per one cup of water to boil in a medium saucepan.  Lower temperature and allow to simmer for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally.  Strain the turmeric and add one tablespoon of vinegar per cup of liquid.  Stir and let cool.

pink dye

Coarsely chop beets and add to a medium saucepan.  Bring one cup of beets per one cup of water to a boil.  Lower temperature and allow to simmer for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally. Strain the beets and add one tablespoon of vinegar per cup of liquid.  Stir and let cool.

dying process

Gently place eggs in the dye bath and let soak.  The longer the egg soaks, the deeper the color.  Once the eggs have reached the desired color, carefully remove, let dry, and rub with olive oil to add gloss.  Enjoy!
